Fever vs. Mystics: A Rivalry of Resilience and Rebuilding
Even though the WNBA has many interesting rivalries, the one between the Indiana Fever and the Washington Mystics is different. It’s about two teams in different positions: one is rebuilding with hope and the other is coming together because of their strength and youth. Fever: Taking Your Time to Rebuild Caitlin Clark’s arrival at the Indiana Fever raised expectations for the team going into the 2025 season. At the same time, as with many teams welcoming new members, things have been far from smooth for them. The Fever’s loss to the Mystics this past May 28 showed where the team can improve and how far it has come. When Clark was out because of injury, the Fever had trouble scoring points. Since the team shoots poorly from the field and from three-pointers, it is clear how much they lean on their rookie for floor and tempo control.
